The mother and daughter duo share their path of how they balance living within the monetary system, while simultaneously offering health to the community. They both had visions within their first teacher training, 10 years ago, of creating a wellness center. They share the story of how Sol Health transformed from classes and global retreats from their mother and daughter duo… into what it is currently: a beautiful public location that offers classes, series, trainings, retreats, ceremonies, 1:1 sessions, online classes, and co-creates with many local service providers. They share the events leading up to signing their 5 year lease and financially committing to their public location one month before the 2020 lockdowns. They express the vulnerability and responsibility of legally tying their name to the sacred space. They recognize the Sanskrit translation of Kula, meaning tribe or community. At the essence of Sol Health, community is at the heart of everything that they do. The intention at Sol Health is to create balance in the contrast of Yin and yang energies. One of the ways this is experienced is through the symbol of our breath, our Prana, our life force, and connection to source energy. The balance of the inhale and the exhale creates harmony in our physical body. This is yoga. This is union. They merge this concept, of the symbol of breath and union, into the body of their community; it translates to a balance of giving and receiving. They understand that for some students, finances can inhibit the growth of their yoga practice. They share their karma yogi program, where students help to maintain the studio in exchange for classes. They also have numerous donation-based or free classes throughout each month on a “give what you can” premise. They recognize that “you are more important than your money”. They also have “Open Your Heart”, a mentorship and scholarship program, with classes through the month that are free or donation-based. Staff members volunteer their time and energy to this give-back program, allowing 100% of donations to be given directly to students in our community. They are available online on Instagram and Facebook as well, where they post multiple times a week in support of education on the Yoga practice, inspiring techniques, and health benefits of mindful living. Students that would like to continue or deepen their practice, but financially are unable to, will no longer have an excuse to expand themselves into the light of yoga. If you are interested in building relationships within the light of their Kula, join us for classes, events, and special offerings! Students that would like to continue or deepen their practice, but financially are unable to, will no longer have an excuse in limiting themselves into the light of yoga.
